We know this is a tough time for many AWU members right across Queensland, with the impact of COVID-19 leaving many people struggling to find work and make ends meet.

With this in mind, the AWU has been in discussions with Queensland Health about helping affected AWU members find jobs.

Queensland Health is, and with cases continuing to grow is looking to employ significant numbers of casual staff to assist them meeting this health crisis.

They’re looking for people to fill a wide number of roles, including:

  • Porterage
  • Patient support assistance
  • Linen services
  • Environmental waste services
  • Cleaning services
  • Protective services
  • Food services
  • Mail services
  • Trades assistant
  • and others

Queensland Health is a strong AWU workforce with great terms and conditions, decent pay, and strong, around the clock AWU representation.

There’s never been a more important time to be a member of the AWU.
