Delegates are the lifeblood of our Union – they’re the key point of contact between members, the Union, and employers. Being a delegate is a vital role which carries significant responsibility.

We value the importance of our delegates, which is why we ensure you are equipped with the right tools so you can be confident and effective in your role. By developing knowledge and building critical skills, delegates are empowered so you can achieve positive results for members.

The training also provides the opportunity for you to connect with other delegates to share your experiences.

Delegates gain practical skills tailored to your industry through the three levels of professional training – from foundation skills and knowledge through to more advanced.

Participants learn about relevant workplace legislation, conducting workplace meetings, representing union members, engaging in dispute resolution processes, developing strategies, negotiating collective Agreements, building union membership and more.
