AWU HEALTH AND REPRESENTATIVE (HSR) TRAINING

The Australian Workers’ Union (AWU) is now an approved health and safety representative trainer.

This means the AWU can now provide training to Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) in your workplace under the Western Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and provide you with the skills that will assist you to carry out your role as a HSR.

The course will provde you with an understanding of the objectives of your role and under the act including:
– an understanding of the new WHS legislation;
– an understanding of how it applies to your role as an elected HSR or deputy HSR; and
– the knowledge and skills necessary to use your powers under the WHS legislation to issue PINs and direct that unsafe work cease.
