New AWU Victorian Branch Assistant Secretary and President - The Australian Workers' Union : The Australian Workers' Union

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the AWU Victorian Branch Committee of Management last week appointed Jimmy Mastrandonakis as Assistant Secretary and Tanya Harrington as Branch President for the rest of the term expiring 30th June 2021.

Tanya is the first woman to be elected as Victorian Branch President, a truly historical achievement.

Tanya said that she was proud to be the first female president of the branch.“I am honoured to have been endorsed as President of the Victorian Branch. I look forward to working with the leadership team to drive positive outcomes for our members.”

Jimmy said it was an honour and he was keen to keep working on making the AWU great. “The AWU is full of strong and proud unionists and in these challenging years ahead I want to be able to make a solid contribution to the leadership of the union.”
