AWU Safety Update – Suspected Coronavirus Case at O-I Glass

AWU Workplace Health & Safety Alert: O-I Glass

The AWU is aware that there may have been a case of coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed at O-I Glass, Brisbane.

AWU Officials have been in contact with O-I Glass this morning and received assurances that all potentially affected employees have been contacted and given appropriate health advice.

O-I Glass has also confirmed that no employees will be financially disadvantaged during this time.

We’re seeking additional assurances from O-I Glass that measures are being put in place to keep the entire workforce safe from infection.

We understand that O-I Glass have reached out to all employees who may have been affected and are discussing the matter with the wider workforce.

Remember: you have the right to refuse work that puts your health and safety at imminent risk.

AWU Officials will be doing everything we can to support members during this time.
