AWU Safety Update – Coronavirus

February 6, 2020

AWU Workplace Health & Safety Alert

6 February 2020

There is no larger priority for the AWU than making sure our members have safe workplaces.

With the outbreak of coronavirus and four confirmed cases in Queensland, AWU members in Queensland Health are at the frontline of keeping our state safe and healthy.

The AWU is working with Queensland Health and the Queensland Government to ensure that worker safety is everyone’s priority during this time.

Similarly, AWU members in ports and terminals across Queensland are at the frontline of potential exposure to coronavirus.

We’ve also written to employers at ports and terminals to make it clear we expect every single AWU member has access to a safe workplace free from any risk of infection.

Read the updates for AWU members below.

If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your AWU Organiser or Delegate.

Making sure AWU members are safe at work is our number one priority.
