Lactalis Closure

The AWU is aware that this morning, Lactalis announced the closure of their Rockhampton plant, and formally commenced downscaling operations in their South Brisbane factory.

This decision by Lactalis is extremely disappointing – particularly after they were only just recently awarded a major Queensland State Government contract.

Our first priority is to give every support we can to affected members.

AWU Organisers will be visiting sites over the coming days and weeks to provide direct one-on-one help to members.

We’re seeking to urgently meet with the Queensland State Government to discuss any ways we can support keeping Lactalis jobs in Queensland, for Queensland workers.
