Information Session for affected Lactalis workers in Rockhampton

February 13, 2020

AWU MEMBER UPDATE

14th February 2020

Since Lactalis made the disgraceful decision to close its Rockhampton site just weeks after securing a major government contract, we’ve been working with the Queensland Government to support our members through this difficult period.

While Lactalis has left its Rockhampton workforce out in the cold, we’re doing all we can to make sure affected workers are getting the help they need during this tough time.

After Lactalis refused to even allow the state department onsite to offer workers direct assistance, we’ve worked with the Queensland Government to secure an information session for affected employees.

To make sure you know what your options are, we’re encouraging all members to come along to the Information Session on Monday 17 February 2020 between 2pm and 4pm at Schotia Place, 210 Bolsover Street, Rockhampton.

This session will offer advice on local job opportunities, training assistance, and other help and support to help local workers get through this tough time.

For more information please read this flyer, and make sure you let as many people as possible know about this opportunity.

Remember to contact your AWU Organiser if you need any further help or assistance.
