Casuals working regular shifts may be entitled to permanent employment rights

 

Earlier this year the Federal Court handed down a landmark ruling that could give greater rights and entitlements to hundreds of thousands of casual workers.

The court found that casual workers can be entitled to the rights of permanent employees if they work regular shifts which are rostered in advance . These casual workers may be entitled annual leave, sick leave and all the other entitlements of permanent employees.
