National Conference 2011

The AWU delegates will be joined by a wide range of observers from the community; including Federal, State and Local government politicians, business leaders, the media and NGO representatives to help us celebrate an important milestone in union history.

More than 500 people will be participating in the celebrations, as the members of Australia’s biggest blue-collar union look back on a history which started before Federation.

Delegates and observers at the conference, on the Gold Coast, will hear from key national and local agenda-setters as well as discuss a wide range of policy issues which impact on the lives of the AWU’s 135,000 members and their families.

At this site you will be able to keep up with the conference deliberations ; see photos of conference in action and read about some of the key speeches made and policy positions adopted.

Remember you can also keep track of our 125th birthday conference through our Facebook site and the AWU Twitter.
