Today's major Agenda Items are:

  • 9 am - 125th anniversary AWU conference introductions

  • 9.40 am - AWU National President and Queensland Branch Secretary, Bill Ludwig, gives official opening address

  • 10.45 am - AWU National Secretary, Paul Howes, gives keynote conference speech

  • 11.30 am - Guest Speaker: Queensland Premier, Anna Bligh, to officially open Conference

  • 1.30 pm - Guest Speaker: Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation; Assistant Treasurer the Hon Bill Shorten MP

  • 2pm - Superannuation Resolutions discussed

  • 2.30 pm - Guest Speaker: ACTU Secretary, Jeff Lawrence

  • 3pm - Guest Speaker: Ian Silk AustralianSuper CEO

  • 6.30 pm - 125th Anniversary Dinner - Guest Speaker: PM Julia Gillard

Tuesday 15 February 2011

  • 9.30 am  - Global campaign in support of Mexican workers launched at AWU conference

  • 10.am  - Deputy Prime Minister, Wayne Swan

  • 11 am  - AWU Growth campaign

  • Midday  - Launch of Guard It or Ban It campaign with Alan Newey a survivor of a workplace accident who lost his right dominant arm

  • 2pm – Independent Member for Kennedy Bob Katter

Wednesday 16 February 2011

  • 9.30 am - Don’t Dump on Australia campaign national launch

  • 10.30 am  - Climate Change Minister, Greg Combet

  • Midday -  Family Violence Report

  • 2 pm  -  Mining and Construction Industry Report

  • 2.25 pm  - Energy options and uranium mining

Thursday 17 February 2011

  • 9.30 am  - Portable Long Service Leave in Resource Sector
