Meeting of Offshore Alliance rig workers in February

Oil rig workers are holding a meeting early in February to discuss the rig workers campaign in 2010 and the growth of the Off-Shore oil workers alliance.

A flyer is being distributed to get a good roll up and the views of as many workers from as many rigs as possible.

Meeting in North Fremantle on February 2

The meeting of all Alliance Rig Workers will be held in the MUA WA Branch Office 2-4 Kwong Alley North Fremantle at 1.00pm on the 2nd of February 2010.

Alliance Organisers Mahmut "Hammer" Melkic, Allen Wattam and Glen Williams will be in attendance plus other officials from the Alliance unions depending on availability.

Report on Offshore Alliance campaign - and what we're doing in 2010

The purpose of the meeting is to give a report back to members and potential members on where we are at with the campaign at the moment in regards to fighting for your rights across the industry, how workers are starting to join the Alliance and what we can do going forward.

Your thoughts and ideas on how we can better look after your interests would be most welcome. We are really starting to see good growth of membership on most rigs and we need to continue this momentum by exchanging views and passing on as much information as possible to you as well as hearing what you all have to say.
